Subspecies of the grivet monkey have recently been split into distinct species.
The grivet monkey can be found in Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia and Sudan.
Grivet monkeys predominantly feed on acacia seeds, flowers, foliage and gum. They will also feed on figs and other fruiting trees.
Grivet monkeys are extremely adaptable and can live in both rural and urban environments.
